Drip. Drip. Drop.

It’s been a month now. Wow! It’s been an entire month since I have left the familiarity of North Carolina and moved to Virginia to pursue the plans of The Lord and I must say that it has been such a journey. I am learning so much–about life, Jesus, ministry, and people. I decided that it was time to tell the tales of my current season of life and I have been learning within it. I hope you enjoy this reading the account of this journey as much as I have enjoying walking through it.

I step in from the cool, wet day. My boots screech as I drag them upon the new rug placed by the grand door of the building. I scan the room, recalling the location of my next class and I start off in the direction of the large lecture hall. Making a few slight turns–retracing my steps from the first day of class, I finally reach the entrance.

I step into a room full of eager eighteen-year-olds who were hungry for knowledge. I take my seat and set up my desk for class. I exhale.

Ah. Praise be to The Lord. He is Good.

A few moments later, the voice of the professor floods the room.

“Who opened the flood gates of heaven?”

The class let out a chuckle.

“Well at least the plants will get some water.” The professor exclaimed.

He sets his briefcase on the lectern and pulls out a large bible. He opens it.

“I want to share something that The Lord has laid on my heart before I start class.”

He begins to read…

“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you.”

-II Corinthians 9:10-14 KJV

The professor begins to unpack how we as followers of Jesus are called to give back to God as an act of thanksgiving. However, my mind is stuck on the first 9 words of the verse.

“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower…”

I can’t help but let my mind wander to the downpour occurring just outside.

Provision.

I recall the verse in Matthew in which Jesus tells of The Father’s great Love for us and how He cares for the birds and they must trust Him to care for them.

That word has described so much of my transition here to Liberty. There have been countless times where The Lord has intervened and made my circumstances to be exactly what I need. I am learning to rest in that provision and trust that He will care for me in ways I don’t even know I need.

I am so thankful for what The Lord is doing in my life and who has brought into my life. He has BIG plans here at Liberty for me! Thank you to everyone who has called/texted/emailed/ tweeted/messaged to check in on me. Your prayers and support mean the world to me.

I hope you all like my new blog. I thought since I am in a new season, it was time for a new blog.

Thank you for your continued prayers. More posts to come!

For His Glory,
David

I’m David

Welcome to this small, quiet corner of the internet. Think of it like a coffee shop table where words, Scripture, and vinyl crackle in the background. I’m not here as someone who has it all together—just a fellow traveler pointing toward the bread of life.

What you’ll find here are fragments: poems, reflections, and essays stitched together from the ache of our brokenness and the hope of a Savior who makes us whole. It’s part journal, part prayer, part playlist for weary souls.

So linger a while. Read slowly. My prayer is that every line I write nudges you beyond me and toward the One who created you—and still whispers grace into all our restless hearts.
